Yaz.Az ("we", "us", "our") operates the websites at www.azerbaijanikeyboard.com and www.yazaz.az. We are a free, public-interest language utility tool built to help Azerbaijani speakers write in their language without needing a dedicated keyboard. We are the data controller for any personal data collected through this site.

2. The Short Version

All text you type or paste into Yaz.Az is processed entirely in your browser. It is never transmitted to our servers or to any third party. We do not store, log, or read your text under any circumstances. The core purpose of this site — transliteration — is a fully client-side operation.

3. Data We Collect

Analytics (Aggregated, Anonymous)

We use Umami Analytics, a privacy-respecting open-source platform. Umami collects only anonymised, aggregated statistics — page views, general geographic region, and referrer information. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not collect personally identifiable information. No individual user profile is ever created.

Your Text Input

We collect nothing. The transliteration engine runs in JavaScript inside your browser. Your text never leaves your device. This applies to all three modes: Latin → Azerbaijani, Azerbaijani → ASCII, and the virtual keyboard.

No Account, No Registration

Yaz.Az has no user accounts, no login, no registration. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any personal information to use the service.

4. Cookies

We do not set any first-party cookies. Your dark/light mode preference is stored in a JavaScript variable for the duration of your session only — it is not saved in a cookie or local storage and resets when you close the browser tab.

Google AdSense, which we use to display advertisements, may set third-party cookies to serve relevant ads. You can manage or opt out of interest-based advertising through Google's Ad Settings or via your browser's cookie controls.

6. Legal Basis for Processing

Where we process any personal data, we do so on the basis of legitimate interests — specifically, understanding how the tool is used in aggregate so we can improve it. The analytics we collect are anonymised and aggregated, and we have determined that this processing does not override individual privacy rights.

We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data with third parties except as described in Section 5 (service providers operating on our behalf under their own privacy policies).

7. Data Retention

Umami analytics data is retained in aggregated, anonymous form and contains no personally identifiable information. Vercel infrastructure logs are managed according to Vercel's own retention policies. We retain no other data about users.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal data we hold about you. Because we collect almost no personal data, these rights are unlikely to be relevant in practice. However, if you have a concern or request, please contact us and we will respond promptly.

This site is designed with GDPR principles in mind — data minimisation, purpose limitation, and privacy by default are core to how it works.

9. Children's Privacy

Yaz.Az is a general-purpose language utility tool suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Because we do not collect personal information from any user, no special risk arises from children using this tool.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of Yaz.Az after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
